So inexpensive and did the job just fine! No need to try pins or paper clips! I took my time and it performed flawlessly!

This plastic tool at first looks like a toy, but does it ever work well! First time I used it I was really amazed. It was so fast I saw nothing happening, but the band was suddenly free with the pin laying neatly beside it. As with any tool, read the directions carefully. Watch band pins are directional and if you put the band in the tool backwards you are in for a lot of frustration.

I just received this, and after 5 minutes my watch fits perfectly! This pin remover has already paid for itself — it would have been at least $5 to get the links removed professionally, plus the cost of gas. Even if it hadn’t paid for itself so quickly, it would have been worth it due to the time savings alone.
It doesn’t come with instructions, but I was able to figure it out very quickly despite having no experience with these things. Like previous reviewers mentioned, the pin must be pushed in the direction of the arrow (assuming your watch has arrows). The vertical alignment (watch pin to tool pin) is very important, but you can easily adjust that with the metal screw on the side… it looks like it’s moving only horizontally, but it actually allows precision adjustment in the vertical direction. You can use the tool to push the pins back in.
When I was looking for something like this on Amazon, I almost bought a whole watch repair kit because I wasn’t really sure what I needed. If you only need to remove/add links, this is all you need!

Watch / jewellery link remover is a great gadget. Mine is virtually identical to the one in the picture less tthe 5 additional pins. Over the decades i have been to the jeweller too many times to get watch links added or taken out – so why didn’t i buy this gadget sooner?
Its a great tool and pays for itself quickly! Just line your watch link up (the hole) and rotate the handle and the pin pushes out (beware as some watch links are spring loaded) and if you have titanium links, you may bend the metal pusher as it is stainless steel – not as hard at titanium.
Great device – use it twice and it has paid for itself!

While I wouldn’t call this a precision tool meant to last for decades, I successfully used it to remove 2 links from a Tissot stainless steel watch band and shorten the band. You have to finagle with the tool a little to get it into the pin hole on the band but it’s not hard.
A ‘mall-aisle’ place wanted $15 to do it, and with this tool it took 10 minutes…and you never know when you’ll have to shorten another band….
