It looks like you’re playing with american cheese.

You’re very welcome. Those time-lapse TV show demonstrations can really give you an inferiority complex, can’t they?! I’m happy that our video helped you understand the process even better.

I appreciate that you showed each and every pass thru the pasta machine. Now I know it’s not suppose to be a perfect rectangle like they use to show on the craft shows on TV. I thought I just couldn’t do it right. Thanks so much!

A Skinner blend is just a way to create a gradient of color in polymer clay. You can then use the thin color sheet on ANYthing!

  • UNWRITTENUNKNOWN:

    what is it used for?

  • artjewelrymag:

Thank you for watching the video with an astute eye! By rotating the rectangle 90 degrees, and then bringing the bottom edges up to meet the top edges, you achieve a blend that retains the two original pure colors at each end. Though you’ll still get a blend the way I demonstrated it.

It’s always a challenge to narrate, keep your hands in the camera’s focus, and get everything perfect! Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Thank you for watching the video. Excellent suggestion! It’s always good to know what you’re aiming for before learning a technique. We’ll be sure to follow this advice in future videos. And I bet we can tweak the intro of this one.

The first fold she made was to the wrong sides. You are supposed to fold it so the extra color on each end is on the top/bottom. When you watch the video she should have folded it left to right. AND I LOVE AT 2:15 she talks about how important it is to fold it right.

It would be great if you would show what the end result will be first so we know where the process is headed.

    More please. Great video.

I’ve got books on how to create the Skinner Blend, but you can’t beat being shown. Splendid!
